He received his M.B.A. in International Finance from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio. His call to full time missionary service was confirmed through serving with NIVS in Bulgaria, Israel, Portugal, and Germany/Switzerland (in the Eurasia Regional Office).

Jill grew up on the Northeast Oklahoma District and the Northeastern Indiana District. She earned a B.A. in Spanish Education from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Ken and Caroline Wade

Ken and Carolyn have a very unique ministry. They travel to and speak at many churches in about a 100-mile radius, sharing the gospel of Christ. They visit former students to encourage and mentor them in their faith and ministry. Rev. Ken has had the privilege of speaking at graduations, preaching in local churches, and blessing and encouraging so many. They also present books and teaching materials to pastors and church leaders on all levels.

The Wades are faithful servants, furthering the kingdom of God in personal ministry in Kenya and also reaching out through radio and Facebook.

Why We Serve

"Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place." 2 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV)

We responded to a mission challenge during college, saying we would go as missionaries when God directed us. After college, I (Ken) served as a pastor and day care director while Carolyn held various nursing positions. During our work in evangelism, the call to missionary service became clear.

After serving a term in South Africa and Botswana with our church denomination, we returned to the States and served a six-year pastorate. Still sensing a call to return to Africa, we applied with WGM and were appointed as career missionaries to Kenya in March 1995.

Since January 1996, we have served at Kenya Highlands Bible College, training pastors and Christian workers for ministry and providing medical services at the school. However, in January 2004, the Lord gave us a vision for working more directly with Africa Gospel Church, ministering to rural pastors, congregations, and national missionaries to strengthen them and facilitate outreach to those who don’t know Christ.

Where We Serve

We still live in Kericho, but our ministry predominately takes place in rural areas of Kenya as we visit, encourage, and train national pastors to reach the lost more effectively.

We feel a key to our effectiveness in this new ministry is to stay with people in their homes, to be where they are rather than living separately from them.

What We Do

In partnership with Africa Gospel Church, we work with rural congregations and national missionaries, providing local churches with theological training, preventative health teaching, preaching assistance, and encouragement. More specifically, we organize special meetings and seminars in rural areas, preach revival meetings in urban areas, preach in rural and urban churches, and provide a Gospel preaching ministry within the secondary schools of Kenya.

Carolyn also helps facilitate training in women’s issues and health, and together, we are involved in children’s and youth ministries within the local church and schools.

Overall, our ministries emphasize holiness, pastoral instruction, and homiletics.

Please pray for Pastor Ken and Carolyn.  Would you consider becoming a monthly supporter of the Wades, increasing your current support, or giving a generous cash donation?
